Meeting 7&8

We met in the middle of the holiday to film as we had planned and be as efficient with time as possible. We used the school and lots of equipment around the school very productively , and generally got the job done. As we had managed to film all the shots that we had planned for the film in one day we decided that we should concentrate on the other areas.

Meeting 8 ;-
-In lesson time we had a tutorial on sound and sound effects and how they can be used in our film effectively. We also decided to look at the camera techniques/effects we would use which we had envisioned whilst shooting previously also. We then thought of the titles and how the could enter by using Adobe After effects. Whilst looking at effects we played with different tools such as red filter, and fog as we wanted our film to look very mysterious.

- In our meeting we decided that we wanted to make our own soundtrack, as we believed it would be more interesting good experience and would benefit us.

- We decided that we should each go away and play with font's research and think about what we could use for our title and credits.

Final Sound

Our main aim for our soundtrack was to produce and create an original to fit our film. This would of involved the use of programme such as;- fruity loops, cubase or logic. Using either of these programmes would of enabled us to produce class work as well as experiment and create ruff cuts to gain feed back. This was our initial plan of which i decided to do research into other opening sequence music , relating to our theme and analysing them for us to gain knowledge on what we may consider or include.

Unfortunately, none of us had used the software before and therefore had no knowledge of them, as well as them being fairly expensive. instead Anisha and Riham had a friend that worked in the recording studio regularly and had a great deal of knowledge of the software. He let us use his software to just experiment with the beats and synthesisers. however we didn't have a lot of time, and getting used to the software enough for us to become comfortable would of taken an even longer time. we found we wouldn't have enough time to produce our own soundtrack. As we didn't have the time to produce after doing research, i knew what may suit our film. each of us looked into website on
Google that provided free music that you did not have to ask permission to use. We finally decided on using http://www.freeplaymusic.com/as the variation in music available was suitable. we then came across loads of instrumental that were very appropriate to our type of genre. After listening to a few Anisha came across one instrumental that she felt was perfect. After listening to it we all agreed that it definitely fit. We felt as though this reinforced our theme and complimented our film, after importing and cutting in places it fit perfectly and we decided to keep it.

Production Logo

Our Logo is a reflection of our group, young, sexy and to the point. The ‘RAGE’ ents is a collaboration of the first letters of our names. We were going to at first have two production logo’s, as we each constructed one individually, but we decided to go with this one as it looked so appealing and unique. We created this in Adobe Photoshop, which had all the software we needed to make the logo look very professional. I believe the logo is very strong and is a clear representation of ourfilm and our group. A clear convention and theme is running throughout also. The red lipstick. This is key as already specified red is a sign of Love, and danger. It is also very appealing and alluring. We tested individually different font’s on the typography website http://www.cooltext.com/, and others. As we had already for title font’s tried this website we felt none of the font’s really complimented the feel of the picture. On Adobe we found a simple textthat went with our theme and picture equally called, ‘Chiller’. It looked great. We had taken the original photo by taking a picture of my finger to my lips. We then flipped it in Photoshop and made it look sexy by cartoonising it, adding some Gaussian blur to areas and fighting with the pen tool, to single out the lips and finally colour them red.

- Final Logo

To make this already brilliant logo even better we wanted to add some animation. For this we had to import the jpeg into Adobe After effects and basically play around. We experimented with speed scale and other various tools. Finally we adjusted the speed and positioning and the direction of the anchors the Logo would follow, to become and animation.

With this we managed to create a 5 second animation that introduced us as an entertainment organization well. Our logo did what it should, engage, appeal and establish who we are, so that people know who produced the film.

- This is the logo i produced whilst we were coming up with names for our film. My inspiration for this logo was the'Working title film' logo, which i believed to be very professional, smart simple and direct. Stating exactly who they are.

This the Animated Logo production Image at first: -

After producing the logo, animation and everything we then once showing our rough cut to the class, saw how plain it looked on screen. We then decided that the background should incorporate the theme also. Thankfully Adobe After Effects had backgrounds, of which we found a suitable on and imported it right in.

This is the Logo after.

Character Profile.

By using Character Profiles, we are able to refer back and consider how our characters in the film will act and convey the characteristics and profile, we have given them. It is important that our characters meet the necessary criteria in order for there to be obvious relations with the target audience and also other stereotypical aspects that we wish to include, so that our film relates to the Genre. By using props, costume ad character expression and positioning, we are able to portray our character's to the fullest in the hope that their characteristics are identifiable by the audience.
